Important Information

To give total peace of mind of the quality and integrity of our golf insurance policies, Golfplan Insurance, One of Europe’s leading specialist golf insurance providers, established in 1984, is the only UK PGA recommended golf insurance company, and currently provides cover for over £60 million of equipment used for golf.

It is always the intention of Golfplan Insurance to provide a first class standard of service, to this end and for the protection of our clients, the following procedures are in place:

  • Both the Society of Lloyd's and Underwriters at Lloyd's are Authorised and Regulated by the Financial Services Authority
  • Golfplan Insurance is Authorised and Regulated by the Financial Services Authority
  • Data Protection. Golfplan Insurance is registered under the Data Protection Act. The data supplied by you will only be used for the purposes of processing your insurance policy including underwriting, administration and handling of any claim, which may arise. The data supplied will not be passed to any other parties other than those which are mentioned in the Data Protection section of the Golfplan Annual Golf Insurance policy documentation.   • Complaints Procedure. If, as a policy holder, we should fail you in any way that gives you cause for complaint our annual golf insurance policy documentation contains the full procedure we have put in place for you. There are 3-steps to follow:
    1. In the first instance you should contact the Manager, Golfplan Insurance, Prospect House, Sheene Road, Bristol BS3 4EG.
    2. Should the matter not be resolved to your satisfaction you should write to The Complaints Department, Lloyd's, One Lime Street, EC3M 7HA Tel: 020 7327 5693, Fax: 020 7327 5225 or email complaints@lloyds.com. Please state that you are insured through Golfplan Insurance together with your policy number.
    3. Finally, if the matter still remains unresolved, once all the above have been contacted, you can then approach the Financial Ombudsman Service, South Quay Plaza, 183 Marsh Wall, London E14 9SR. Tel: 0845 0801800, Fax: 0207 9641001. The Financial Ombudsman Service is an independent body that arbitrates on complaints about general insurance products. It will only consider complaints after Golfplan Insurance have provided you with written confirmation that our internal complaints procedure has been exhausted. Referral to the Financial Ombudsman Service will not affect your right to take legal action against us.

Important Notes

The aim of our website is to provide you with as much information as possible to allow you to make a qualified decision as to whether or not our Golfplan Annual Golf Insurance Policies are suitable for your requirements. In addition to understanding the Policy Benefits and Policy Options and Premiums the following notes are also important:

  • Policy Documentation. Please read our Policy Documentation carefully either before you purchase your Golfplan Annual Golf Insurance policy or when you receive it. In the unlikely event your Golfplan Insurance policy is inappropriate for your particular requirements your premium will be refunded in full providing you return the policy documents within 21 days of the date of issue and no claim has been made. Any refund made outside of this period is at the discretion of Golfplan Insurance and an administration fee will be applied.
  • General Exclusions and Excesses apply to individual sections of your annual golf insurance policy. Under certain sections of the policy, claims will be subject to an excess. This means that you will be responsible for paying the first part of the claim. Please visit the Exclusions and Excesses page more details.
  • Policy Limits. Most sections of your golf policy have limits on the amount the insurers will pay under those sections. Some sections also include other specific limits, for example daily limits.
  • Reasonable Care. You must take all reasonable care to protect yourself and your property as you would if you were not insured.
  • Complaints. Your policy document will contain a complaints procedure which tells you what steps you can take in the unlikely event you wish to make a complaint. You can also view this by visiting our Important Information page.
