A slow start to the season

A slow start to the season

The warmer weather is usually the start for golfers to come out of hibernation. We dive back into the loft, garage and locker, to dig out the clubs and remove the dust and cobwebs gathered over the cold winter season. However, the prolonged wet and miserable weather has pushed back the usual April start of the season, with many courses still not being fully open. With the first of May upon us and temperatures and weather improving, hopefully this is the start of many fun spent days basking in the sun once again.

The month of May brings The Players Championship held at the iconic TPC Sawgrass. The Players has often been considered the unofficial fifth major due to the top 50 players in the world rankings being invited to participate. Si Woo Kim won last year with an impressive -10 total. The 17th at the TPC Sawgrass is one of the most famous par 3’s in golf. The island green on the stadium course is where the competition is often won and lost. Finding the dance floor is a must to claim the top prize, this year a whopping $1.89 million.
